Miami Hurricanes fall to No. 2 UConn in Basketball

The Canes were in the Virgin Islands participating in a tournament this past weekend called the Paradise Jam.

They had to play the University of Conneticut which is a powerhouse of a team with a 7 foot 3 inch center Hasheem Thabeet who had 19 points and 14 rebounds to hand UM its first loss.

The No. 17 Hurricanes threw all kinds of double- and triple-teams at the likely future NBA lottery pick, but that along with a 27-point effort from Jack McClinton wasn't nearly enough to overcome their former Big East rivals in a 76-63 semifinal loss at the Paradise Jam.

When you have to play a team like UConn you are going to have to play extra hard to win, and even then you probably won't be succesful.

Miami basketball is stronger than ever, but they will have certain hurdels that they will have to overcome in order to be succesful this year.

I couldn't watch the game but I followed Manny Navarro's Eye on the U courtside blog to see what was going on. Nice feature the Herald has.
