Local battles for Congress
The presidential election isn't the only thing people are voting for today in Miami-Dade county at least. There are three key congressional races. Two of them involve brothers. The Diaz-Balart brothers are each taking on respective opponents. Lincoln is up against Raul Martinez and Mario's opponent is Joe Garcia. These brothers are incumbents and republicans. They are said to be associated with George Bush and this might hurt their re-election efforts. One thing that is favorable for Lincoln is that his opponent Martinez, the former mayor of Hialeah is a crooked as Lombardi Street in San Francisco. This may be the only thing that will keep Lincoln in office. The last race is another republican incumbent Ileana Ros-Leintenen taking on Annette Tadeo. Ros-Leintenen has been around for a good number of years and I don't think that she is going anywhere despite a nice effort by Tadeo. This election day is going to be very interesting on a national and a local front.
